      Noravank was built in the XIII century and consists of the chapel of St. Gregory (St. Gregory), the Church of St. John the Baptist (St. Karapet) and the church of St. Virgin (Astvatsatsin).
      The church was built Armenian sculptor and architect Momik tragic legends which still live around the temple. One of them tells that Momik fell in love with the daughter of one of the princes and asked the girl's father to take her as his wife. Prince promised to give good only after Momik built for him for three years, the monastery of extraordinary beauty. Momik coped with the task, but the servant on the orders of Prince entered the dome of the monastery and pushed the master ... It may be that the legends have a plausible basis, because the temple built among the rocks ...
      At the entrance of the monastery all visitors are greeted by the image of God the Father, who blesses the crucified Christ. Church beautifully decorated with images of the Virgin with the Christ child, the Archangel Michael and Gabriel, the Apostles Peter and Paul. Special solemnity temple provide cantilever staircase.
      Noravank, world heritage monument, retains the atmosphere of Armenian medieval architecture and local craftsmen leaves a lasting impression of this place among the picturesque cliffs.
